Transition Starts For Winter Sports
January 17, 2018
Coming back from last year’s season of a conference record of 3-11 the girls varsity team shifted their focus towards improving defense, along with working on strengthening fundamentals.
“One of our main focuses is getting better defense. That’s one of the biggest factors in winning a game,” junior Shielo Laranjo said.
Pre-season kicked off with a close loss against Ozark. On Nov. 30 the team participated in a non-conference match against Siloam Springs, ending the game with a final score of 38-57.
“The season for us isn’t going the way we planned but we still have time to improve and every game we’re doing things a little better,” Laranjo said.
On Dec. 8 the game against Howe resulted in a loss of 27-73.
In two weeks the team will compete in a tournament against Russellville.
