A trend involving criminal activity has recently been making its way through schools nationwide. Students at Southside High School have experienced their own stories with this “Devious Lick” trend. Places like hallways and bathrooms have been the hotspot for multiple vandalisms and thefts.

“It is an issue here,” principal Jeff Prewitt said. “Working with Fort Smith Public Schools Police Department, anybody that we find either causing damage or stealing things will face criminal charges of criminal mischief.”

Gaining attention in early September, the TikTok trend shows users videoing themselves vandalizing, stealing, or showing things they already stole from school with captions like, “Only a month into school and got this absolute devious lick” or “My most devious lick by far.”
